hell yea, man i just bought a 400ex today, over a z400,450r,raptor,yfs man i bought it over all these bike and you know why... because i know it's a honda and it's going start every time i go to start it, the 400ex is truly like a tank, its super tough and its handle great and with the right rider you will beat guys with faster bikes in tight trials, so yea i say go with the honda

 

The Z has a slight edge on the EX in every area, except that the EX engine is more willing to lug down. If you are exclusively riding VERY tight trails, I would then prefer the EX.

 

well the fact is that if u want one the ex is for u because it handles better accerates better stronger bottom end better engine air cooled which i prefer because if your miles from the house and over heat fine just get off and take a break if your on the z and run out of coolint or puncture the coolent tank get ready to push that puppy back home and then tell someone your glad you got the new liquid cooled machine and all but 2-3mphs faster if that the z is not as powerfull as the ex but if you prfer the z fine get it its a fine machine i love the reverse but i dont miss it because im more carefull on the ex and try to stay out of places where i will need reverse but i have never needed it since i got the exso its up to u go ride them both and take your pick youll be happy either way i think

 

has the z won any endurance races like baja?

 

The Z's were beginning to win desert races, but have been eclipsed by other bikes lately. The EX has won a bunch, but is now to slow to be competitive.

 

guess you could just flip a coin, the decision would be good either way.

 

The z/kfx.More advanced engine more power with reverse better suspension etc.
The EX is a good bike but need an update...

 

dependin on mods, the 400ex IS still a great bike. It is usually 1 of the top 5 in most baja races. and its still the most popular motox bike.

well ripperupper hasnt even rode a z and personally i can tell ya yes the z may be a little faster but i sure couldnt tell and another the ex has more power every where other than top end which i dont care about because i no the ex will out power out hill climb and out handle a z stock for stock any day thats a fact and ripperupper has only rode a kawasaki byoue 220 at least thats what he told me so dont take his advice
