which is better for all around riding. i am 5'10" and weigh 210 lbs. i mainly ride trails and i have a few jumps. i might go to the dunes when i get a new one but it isnt that big of deal. which one handles better, which one is faster, and which will i be more comfortable on?

They are both great quads. I would lean more towards the z400 cuz of the liquid cooling and reverse, and is going to be a little quicker. I am 6'1" and 215 lbs and fit both of them very well.

I have been riding my cousins heavily modded 400ex at the dunes and love it too.......

z400 much better all around, but the 400ex is a tank and a stock one will start up everytime and go almost anywhere

I've only ridden the 400ex. But I really like the looks of the Z 400. The Z will have a faster top end for sure. It's pretty hard to beat the handling of the 400ex. but if one needs a wider stance you can get off-set wheels or wheel spacers. The 400ex is comfy, but i bet the Z is comfier. just my .02

If price isn't a factor then I'd say go for the Z400. It has liquid cooling, looks a little better, and the best reason, it has reverse..........................But if price is important then the 400EX is your ride! You can pick up the EX for hundreds less than a Z and in some places almost a grand less.

If your looking at brand new 04s, the 400EX will run with a Z400 and tough too.........................Don't let them tell you any different!

for the kind of riding u say u do i would get the zooter. liquid coolin, reverse, faster acceleration and higher top speed. its a bit more expensive but its worth it.
