A modified EX v/s a modified Z/KFX the Z/KFX wins every time.Most everybody mods there bike eventualy.Don't get me wrong I love the EX and I love Honda.Honda makes the most reliable machines thus far.I really think Suzuki & Kawasaki really out did them selves on the Z/kfx400's in '03 and are gona be just as relaible when time tells with better engine (gut) technology.There hasn't been a 400ex with the same mods as me outrun me in a drag yet in the sand.

 

thanks for the info guys. they sound like they r both pretty equal. i guess it just depends on ur preference. personally i like bottom end power better than top end just because i know i will never get going to speed down a trail, and i guess i could live without revese, and i know i can just pick the back end up and move it if i want to. i will proly go with the ex, plus i like the looks of it a little better.

 

It sure would suck if you put a branch through that pretty radiator. Man try going and pricing one of those fancy z400 parts the parts on the z400 are outrageous. Basically what I'm tryng to say is the z400 has alot more to go wrong and probaly won't last as long the good ol faithful 400ex. Personally you don't need reverse just more to go wrong the machine doesn't weigh much. The parts for the 400ex are readily avalible and alot cheaper plus now they are made in America. I read some were that the seat on the z400 is alot thinner than 400ex which means sore a$$ after a while. In my opinion the 400ex is cheaper and a all around better quad. Hope this is helpful.

 

I would give you a pretty good run for your money. When my motor is finished getting broke in I would roost you bad my friend.

 

well trailshreder is right. The Z400 may have more top speed but the EX more low end power.So i would rather have a 400EX because they are a fun machine lots of power plenty of power for anyone.I would take a 400EX over a Z400.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

i think you made a good choice, and i agree i like the looks of the 400ex better.

 

The only thing i dont like bout the 400ex is the headlights.but i like it better than the z400.

i think the z400 is better for everything, and faster
