Default 250ex prob

my 2001 250ex is having problems...It starts ok..not great but it runs, and then as soon as i give it gas, it dies. I don't have any idea what the problem is, and the quad is alreayd warmed up and everything.

hmm that;s one of those tuff ones cause not there to see what is all happening
Have you let it sit for any period of time like a month or better cause then it could just be that the carb is dirty (pilot jet clugged)
does it help if you pull on the choke

Bad gas, dirty carb, its something to do with the fuel is my bet.

We've had this problem before and it turned out to be the air filter needed to be cleaned frequently - then it ran fine!

I had mentioned in earlier posts that I wanted to sell my 250EX and get something with more power and definitely more cushy suspension . . . I finally decided on the 400EX. Glad to be staying with Honda. I also really liked that new 350 Raptor, but didn't like how narrow the wheelbase is. Also, I can get such a deal OTD on the 400EX now that I just can't pass it up.
