I am pretty sure i am getting a 400ex in may and i am wondering what should i add to it to get the most power and torque and top speed...what pipe and what headers and filter and precharger?

As far as the pipes go - everyone's got an opinion - from FMF to Sparks, Pro-Circuit, Yoshi and on and on and on......

Most people seeem to prefer the K&N filter with and outwear or a UNI.

 

speed do yourself a favor throw a pipe on it jet it filter it and just throw a stage on cam in it they run $100 and you will be a screamer no problem....so all together you can do it yourself total cost $340 BAM........your rockin

 

2003 TRX400EX.........off the showroom floor is already an excellent machine thats dependable ..ive broke the new off mine now its time to tune.......ive had it it the mud snow and even toke it swimming...thank goodness for well built machine

 

On my quad I put a DMC alien pipe, K&N Filter, DYNO Jets and an Edelbrock carb. It flys. If I had to do it over again though i would not get the Alien pipe, I would get the duncan racing Fatboy 4, I've had a lot of problems with the DMC and one of my friends has the Fatboy and his bike is a touch faster, runs cooler and is overall just a better pipe. if you mod call one of the speed shops they have kits that can grow.

 

try Dial-A-Jet, K&N, with out airbox lid, and K&N Prefilter. You'll have a noticable amount of low end torque let me tell ya.
