1992 Fourtrax SHOCK question??? Help !!
#1
Hello Everybody: I am asking this question for my friends bike and any input is welcome. When you sit on the bike, it really sinks. Is this the shock worn out ? With just your hands, you can push the rear end down kinda easy. We have never looked at the shock before yesterday, so yes, it has been neglected.
I was looking at E-bay, at shocks and see some for sale, but I don't know what are the hose and tube that come from only some of the shocks ?? It makes me think that maybe my friends bike just needs air put into his shock. Is that possible? ANY input to help us is really appreciated.....Thank-You...Terry

The hoses that you see on some shocks are not for air. They are the lines for the nitrogen gas. These shocks are only found on sport quads.
You can buy a new shok form your honda dealer for $70.00
You have to ask for a shock for a 2000 model though and not your '92.........it's about $350 simply because it is a shok designed and built in the USA while the 1996-up shocks are built over here. The 2000 models, whih was the last year for the TRX300 models, used a revised damping rate and is the best replacement shock available for the money.
