i found out just last friday that my axle bearings were completely destroyed, and when i started to take the rear-end apart and the bearings just fell out of the carrier in many pieces, i knew i def needed to get new ones. the problem i'm having is that i can't get my axle lock-nut off the axle... i can loosen it, but thats all... i took off everything else on the axle, like the tires, chain, sprocket, brake assembly, and rotor, along with the wheel hubs... the only problem is that the damn axle lock-nut won't come off, and i need to have this repair done asap!! the quad that i'm repairing the axle of is my 1987 honda trx250x, with a durablue +4 axle on it. please help me if you can, b/c your help is greatly needed, and will save me a lot of trouble.... if u can even get a diagram to show what i must do than that would be great, but anyway i get help is great to me!! thanx in advance to all who reply!!

The nuts are left handed threads and can be very tight, loosen the skinny big one first cause that is a jam nut. When you do get your nuts loose, can you take a picture of everything that comes off your axle? I'm having a problem with my '87 250x. I bought it with the rear end apart, so I tried putting it together and somthing ain't right cause when I tighten the smaller nut it seems to run out of threads, so I must be missing parts or somthing is worn.
I also need a 250x rear brake resivour and bolt

thanx for the info.... by the way..which way should the lock-nuts loosen, they are on the right side of the swing arm, so they should loosen to the left towards the swingarm, or to the right, b/c the only way they want to loosen is towards the left?? when i get all the parts off my axle i'll be more than glad to get a picture of all the parts from the axle, which i'll send to u via e-mail... just message me with your e-mail when u need them, i should have the pics by next week, so just tell me when u need them. thanx again for your help, i really appreciate it!!

I can never remember which way the nuts turn, and I've done about 3 rear ends in the past 6 months. I'm surprised this site isn't more of a help. I posted that I need shop manual scans of a 250x rear end to see how it goes together and to see what parts I'm missing. No scans yet... I know over on 3wheelerworld when somone needs 350x manual scans I try to do it, scanner broke now so will have to take pics of the book if someone needs somthing.
