Default Foreman ES on the trails

I do a lot of trail riding, and some work with my Foreman ES. It seems more than capable in any situation. I like the switchable 2/4wd. It does have stiff suspsension, but it's not really uncomfortable. I've never had it stuck so far, but have pulled out some buddies on their 2wd models. I rode the rubicon, but decided on the Foreman because it was a little cheaper and about4 inches shorter.(I can close the tailgate on my pickup). Overall, I really like it so far. It seems to be a great all-round machine.

My Buddy just droped the Hammer on a Bomb. ds650. 2X4.
Id be the only 4X4 in my group 90% of the time.
I guess i could always buy better shocks to help the ride.

hey sledrider You will be the group hero ! Just pick trails that you know have one or two big mud crossings or bogs and act all nonchalant as you pull them all out.One at a time ;} LOL

My opinion is a little skewed because I ride a Rincon more than the Foreman. After riding the Rincon, everything else feels like driving a dump truck through the trails . But I like the Foreman and it does really good on trails. Low gearing and plenty of torque, it will climb a tree. For steep technical trails, it will crawl up or down as slow as you need. I don't mind the Foreman on pretty smooth trails. The suspension is pretty dang stiff though, I hear you can change it a little to make it a little smoother. But I don't like it much on trails that have tree roots, ruts, holes, and are overall rough kinda technical stuff. If I had to do it over again, I would probably go with the Rubicon or Suzuki Eiger or Vinson (Which I have rode and like). I have ridden sport bikes on some trails, don't think they are fun on most trails.

The bottom line is really what you plan on doing and what kind of riding you will do. Honestly all the quads are pretty dang good. But the all have different features that work better in certain situations. It just really depends on what you are going to use it for. In my opinion, if you want a nice ride along with good performance I would probably look at something different than the Foreman. The best way to find what you will like is to try to find some peole you know that have different quads and get them to let you ride 'em a bit.. That is honestly the best way to get what YOU want and will like.

good Luck
