Default Just rode my wifes 04 400EX...!

I got to say i am an experiencd rider and just picked it up sat and went out on sunday to the local desert trails and it was a nice ride and a great bike, very solid running and very comfortable ride.. I must admit it is the best bike for a begginner or the wife who just chills behind me on some dune rides..

I took the bike to el mirage and it performed great, there is a rocky section with hill climbs and some very ruff stuff, probabley the ruffest i have been in a while, sharp rocke, drop offs, uneven ledges and the Honda performed flawlessley..

got it for about 5400 otd and it was worth it, just going to do a few mods like a pipe and jet kit and filter and some painting to do, got the wife trained well and she already wants to get the mods done because she doesent want to go slow..LOL I love her...
What are some of the first mods i could do like a pipe , jet kit and air box, just put my old razrs on there for now and they loo killer.. thanks in advance..

I would get a HMF pipe with K&N filter with a 165 jet runs wounderful And maybe a AC bumper some AC nerfs and thats a good start.

If you ever want to break into the motor, my buddy has a high compression stock bore EX set up that is very quick. A couple extra $$ and it would be fairly fast and competitive. But I would start with a good pipe(full or slip on), HMF-Alba-Yoshi-White Brothers, K&N filter, jetted up with no lid. That would be a good start.

When the trail turns rough or tight, the 400EX is the best machine to be on! Be carefull, no stock tires will last long out in the desert!
