ok i have the stock sprokets on the ex now but i want more power in the bottom and midrange so if i put a sprocet with 1 less tooth on the front how much power will i gain and how much speed will i lose

usually youll loose about 5-8 mph...but id get the 440 kit and keep the stock gearing, because the 400 needs all the top end it can get.

the 440 kit would be really helpful, but if your on a budget you could get a 416 kit installed with a JE high compression piston and a cam and you wouldnt need to change sprokets.

I did this mod once because I was running Holshot XCT's which are 22". Didn't keep it for long......way to much torque! The front end was pointed at the sky all the time. I would lose steering control powering out of corners. Finally settled on one tooth bigger in back as the best compromise.
