I am having a heck of a time now. I just bought a 250X that has a 273 big bore kit. I knew the problems and I need a little information from people about this. When I take off, it spits sputters and doesn't even go half throttle before it sounds like it is going to die of too much gas. I think the spark plug is bad and the carb is gummed up. But I would like to hear from others if they have had any problems like this. Thank you for any posts, or replies.

try cleaning the carb. sounds like it needs it. and its easy first step to figuring out your problem.

 

mine i used to have did that and it was the cdi box. but that was mine

 

How much would the CDI box cost?? Give me a Price. . .just in case it is the CDI Box. . .Thank you for your posts

 

i think they are around 100 bucks. try cleaning your carb, and checkin your coil first before you buy. or let me know of everything you've tried.

 

Try cleaning the carb. Also change the gas with new gas. Also look for air leaks in the carbs boots

 

yeah, try the spark plug, b/c i had some problems like that with mine, and it turned out just to be a spark plug. also, clean the carb, and if that doesn't work that you should look at the CDI, or more like look at getting a new CDI.

 

Well, I cleaned the carb, it runs good, but the top end sounds like it is getting NO oil, it pings and pops, sounds like heck. Could that be the valve clearance?? Timing off, any ideas?? Thank you for the posts

 

umm... that could have to do with timing but i'm def not positive, so wait for other input to see wat it is, seeing as though i haven't had that problem.
