For hills you are uncertain about just but it in manual mode then you can control; if, when and how hard it shifts.

Stay away from steep hillclimbs, especially if they're rocky. The rincon is very tippy, not like the rancher or foremans.

The Rincon has been great. The tranny is smooth and has been reliable for me. It works great on the trails, as long as you don't need a "low" range to crawl along. That is my only complaint, but as I get more familiar with the quad and learn how to use the breaks it's not so bad. Mine has seemed to hold up well pulling my utility trailer around the yard moving stuff, it weighs almost 1000 lbs.
When I am on the trails, I use the ESP (manual) mode. That way I can shift when I want/need to. Works really good.

Good LUck

I'm curious now. If the Rincon jerks that hard under hard acceleration, what does it do when climbing steep hills? Does it downshift hard in the middle of a steep climb or say, just as you come to a crest? I wouldn't like that.
Wow. I have never really had my Rincon "jerk hard" when shifting. It has plenty of power when shifting, but shifts so smooth. That's what I really like. In all the situaions I've been in, never had that feeling. Except when pinning the throttle from a dead stop. When I try to race my buddy, I have to really lean forward to keep the front end down if I pin the throttle. Want to wheelie for about the first 15 feet. That sure is fun though.

By the way, I have no mods at all on mine. Bone stock it is.
