axle bearing removal 400ex
#1
I have tried almost everything to get the 2 axle bearings out of the bearing carrier but they just wont move. Anyone done this before on their own. If so, please help me out, im about to just buy a new carrier. Thanks

Wouldnt that damage the carrier? I mean, it's only cast alluminum. I just got a new carrier for my 300ex, because mine cracked somehow which ended up causeing the bearings to go. stock ones are 220 with bearings installed for a 300ex so they are probably the same for a 400ex. What got me mad is that i saw an aftermarket one online for 150 after i ordered the stock one from my shop.

You can also heat the carrier with a torch and tap them out. It will take about 5-7 minutes per side of heating with a propane torch. Don't think 10-15 seconds of heat is going to do the trick. Pretty much, it is hot enough when you can't pick up the carrier with your bare hands on the opposite side.
