Default no power

hey i just purchased a 2001 honda 250 recon, like new condition, had it out a few times, and recently went through some water, not to deep top of the tires maybe, and it cut out right away, now it idles great but as soon as i give it some gas it cuts out, even when in neutral, give it gas and cuts out, i have checked the plug and lines, and see no problems., however when i put a bit of water on the carb it cuts out right away, i am assuming its a leak of some sort, can i fix it, or should it see the shop

thanks a bunch.

I would not suggest putting water in your carb. The piston won't compress it well, and sooner or later, it's gonna bent the rod. If you went through water, or put it in your carb, i suggest taking out the plug then cranking it a few times to push the water, if theres any in there, out.

Also drain the carb, gas tank and put new gas in it. I would also drain the oil and change it just incase.
