Rincon availability?
#1
Hi,
I am interested in an '04 Honda Rincon. A local dealer only has 2 left and they said they won't be getting anymore until June which will be 2005 models. Why is there a gap in production between model years? Is there a major change coming to warrant the retooling of the assembly line? I read on another board that it is becoming a 700 for '05 but I don't know if it is true or not. Btw, is $6800 a decent price for new '04? Thanks, rooster

I read on a magazine they sold all 2004 rincons to dealers so they donīt have any left and honda is speeding up the process to offer 2005 models. The note didnīt said anything about major changes...

Heres the deal on the availablilty. Honda is moving plants, i beleive from one of the carolinas to a more norther state. So all 2004 productions are on hault untill they get moved and settled. As far as a new Honda for 2005, that is a deff no. Now 2006 is a diff. story. From what i have heard from some very very reliable sources that deal with R&D at Honda, 2006 is the year honda will dominate. But heck, if you wanting a Rincon, mines 4 sale.

Its going to be in the Big Bore 4x4 class. I find my informatives trusty also, being one works directly with R&D like i said, plus a guy from R&D went riding with a few members of climb(got some funny pictures of him on Subs rinny). There was not to much information provided except that there will be a much lower gear, possibly vtwin with EFI(which i hate) and plus 2 things every honda owner has wanted, disc brakes and locker.

Bigredrinny, I might as well ask if you know any more details. Is it an updated Rincon or a whole new machine? I would think it would be an automatic, but do you know which transmission it will have, Rincon 3 speed or Hondamatic? If they are going to keep the IRS, they are going to have a hard time keeping it 600 lbs or less with a V-twin. EFI is inevitable, I would think most machines will have it in the coming years. rooster

Well the only part of the info i can actually promise is the disc brakes and locker everything else is was not clarified so i wouldnt take me word for word on it. I think they will proably going to keep the same look of it but i highly doubt theyll keep the hone 3 speed unless they throw a low in there somewhere
