i have an 02 400ex and sometimes when i go to start it *warm and cold* i will hit the 'start button' and then when i hit it sometimes i will just get a SINGLE click. and thats it. so i have to like rock it back and forth and give it some gas and pull the clutch in and try starting it and after about 3-5 more tries it will fire. What is this resulting from?

 

my guess is the starter. you could also just tap on the starter lighty with a wrench, like a car for now. But plan on buyin another 1

 

i would first tighten all the connections on the battery. there is a chance your battery is getting old too.
