Default exaust baffle - bad?

is it bad to take a baffle out of a 4-stroke pipe and ride around? EX.) would it be bad, if i rode around on my 400ex w/o a baffle in? if so what does it damage.

I took my baffle out of 300ex and it is fine. ALl the baffle does is stop sparks from coming out the exhaust. It may give a little extra power because it gives the exhaust more air flow. I cant really tell the difference in power but im sure theres some gain.

^^^ not really much more response. If you have the ride mods, then you will notice some more mid power. Now, if you ride at public parks, be sure to have that baffle on. It contains the spark arrester and its illegal to ride in parks without it.
