When something is ceramic coated, it looks almost as shiny as chrome from a little bit of a distance. But when you are close up you can see the pits. The nice thing about a ceramic coat is that when you get oil on it, you can wipe it off without it leaving the streaking like it does on chrome. They are relatively close to the same cost. If it were me, I would get it chromed.

I wouldn't get chrome if it will go on a 4-stroke. Some chrome pipes tend to blue on 4-strokes........I'm not really sure why 2-stroke chrome pipes don't blue.

Ceramic coating helps retain and disipate heat which in turn makes your quad function better. Remember heat robs speed.

Take a look at the current Dirtwheels issue on page74. You'll see an example of a blueing area where the pipe connects to the motor due to the high heat. The pipe in the picture isn't even chrome and chrome pipes tend to blue even worse. The next time you see a Harley next to you on the road take a good look.......chances are he will have blue on his pipes.

I'm not sure if ceramic will blue (that would be a good question on another thread so more people would answer) but over time a chrome pipe will definetely blue.

Sorry I forgot to answer the rest of your question. I think the pipe in that picture is titanium......at least it better be because that system costs around $800! Ceramic will still have a nice finish but it won't be as mirror-like as chrome. You'd be better off going with ceramic.
