400EX Swingarm Pivot Bolt
#1
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to remove a stuck swingarm pivot bolt? I have tried beating the thing out with a small sledge hammer and still haven't gotten it to budge. I can spin the whole thing around with a wrench but it won't even begin to come out. I did a search on it and saw that some people had to cut theirs out. How would a man go about cutting it and where? Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Dennis

The old stuck swingarm bolt. I'll get it out for $100. You will most likely will have to cut it out as I have had to do this several times. Take a hacksaw and cut between the inside of the frame rail and the dust cap that goes over the collar that is pressed in the swingarm. Cut bot sides and then drop of the swingarm. You will need a new bolt and sleeve to put it all back together.
By the way, our ride this weekend fell through and is rescheduled for next weekend. Shoot me an email and I will give you my phone number if you have any questions.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'm going to have to start cutting. Oh boy.
Pace, keep me advised on the ride. It's a good dang thing it wasn't this weekend, cause I never would have made it. Also, on the EX the pivot bolt goes through the engine cases - so I assume I'll need to make 4 cuts? If this turns into a big pain in the butt, I hope that $100 includes drive time to Franklin!
