I just keep hearing comments like, "wait until Suzuki builds the 450cc quad."

 

Not sure why everyone is arguing about being the fastest. Who care's. The real question is what is the best all around bike? Drags are boring as hell, Trails and MX is where its at in my opinion. The best all around is the YFZ.

I disagree with that. I like the YFZ more because I think it is more race oriented. But I would have to say the best all around quad is the 450R.

 

just our of curiosity, i was thinking to myself, that there's a lot of people in here bagging on the honda, or yamaha, or this rider, or whatever. now as far as the bikes are concerned: Lets try a little poll, jus to see how legit everybody is.

1)how many people own a Yamaha yfz450?
2)How many people own a Honda 450R?

For the people that own these machines...are you glad that you bought it?

if you own either of these machines, and are happy you bought it, then there's no need to rip on other people's equipment. i don't know about u guys, but when i go ride, i'm jus happy as sh*t that i'm riding, no matter what the quad is.

Have any of you guys read the June 2004 issue of Dirtwheels about the modified 450R vs modified YFZ shootout? Once again they put the YFZ on top. How are the 450R's doing at the track in your riding areas? Not too many people race them at the Harescrambles where I live. The 4 stroke field usually is flooded by YFZs a handfull of Z-400s and usually only 1 or 2 450Rs. They also reported troubles with the kick starter. Is that an ignition problem because my 250R is 18 years old and even after a few weeks of sitting it will still fire first kick. It sounds like the 450R doesn't have any major problems just a few of those first-year-bugs.

 

Wow. great commentary. Do continue to enlighten us about how dumb we all were to buy 450's. If only we'd have purchased 18 year old quad's like you,we'd be so much better off.....

 

Of all of the people on this forumn you have proven to be nothing more than a smart a$$. You never reply with any input to the conversation. People like you are the reason I stopped using this forumn...your just not worth the time. I read this article and was curious to see what other people thought about it. If I can't even ask a simple question like "How are the 450R's doing in your race area" without someone like you responding with an ignorant comment than this forumn is just not worth the hassle of turning my computer on.

 

Some people must be grumpy from recieving too many azz kickings on their new pride and joy.
