Back in the mid to late '80's Honda and Suzuki made some really fast quads (250R and Quadzilla 500cc 2 stroke)
They also made 3 wheelers along with Kawasaki. A lot of people were injured and killed on the 3 wheelers and the lawsuits began. All manufacturers were forced to stop making 3 wheelers and then they stopped making powerful high performance quads so as not to get sued over those also.
They then came up with the age to cc recommened limitations and started making 4 strokes more high perfomance. Yamaha was the only manufacturer not scared off but the threats of lawsuits. They never stopped making the Banshee.
Hope this answers some of your question Hondawoody

Don't get your hopes up. Within a few years I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped making 2 stroke quads all together. The environmentalists are really pushing to stop production of 2 strokes because of the "polution" factor.
