300ex parking brake loose?
#1
i am going to be transporting my quad in my truck but i now realize my parking brake does absulutly nothing.. (i actually think the parking brake adds a few horse power lol jk) i remember the brake worked when i first bought it but now i guess its too loose... i wanna try not to resort to parking in gear cause it might damage the tranny but ill use it as a back up... anyone know how to tighten the brake? thanks

you have to screw in the bolt on the caliper until its good for the parking brake.(make sure the rear brake don't drag too bad) then after it is okay for the parking brake wedge it tight with the nut.ask if you have any more questions.

Take it off! After every 2 rides or so it won't work. Park it in gear, it won't hurt the tranny. Do you think it's 350 pounds of weight shifting back and forth when it's in gear will put more stress on the tranny than shifting up or down at full throtle? You can get a parking brake block off. Strp it down in your truck and you don't have to woory about it moving around.

i've tried adjusting the parking brake on our 300EX more times than i can count, and once i get it set right, the reg. brake has the tires locked up. on my 450R it's been really easy to adjust, i only keep it adjusted in case i don't make it up a hill climb or something (i'm still getting used to the quad, so stupid mistakes r bound to happen). if u want to save urself some cash, jus remove the cable. leave the caliper assembly, leave the handlebar assembly, and jus remove the cable.
