besides the reverse, is the 400 THAT much better than the 300? I know the engine is bigger (more power) and the suspension is better, but is it a small step up? I mean once my brother masters the 300ex should he step up to a 400 or something bigger like a 450r or Raptor or something like that.

 

hey i kno someone that has a 400 and ive only ridden it once but my bro has a 300 and so does my friend and i can tell u the 400 has a lot more power. its not much more torque so u dont have to worry about crazy wheelies and their clutch is really easy. all u gotta do is give it a little gas and let out the clutch and it gradually goes....the 300 has a tougher clutch that takes getting used to.

 

I dont notice a tough clutch on my 300 i give it a little gas and let of the clutch and it goes?

 

i have both and the 400 is by far the better machine, the reverse isn't worth the hassle

 

For tight trails, the 300EX is one of the best machines you can get, and with the proper rider, will beat the 400, from personal experience, anything else, I'd take the 400EX.

 

I think once he masters his 300ex, then he would probably be happier with a raptor or a 450. my 12 year old sister could ride my 400ex regularly with a little practice.

 

I used the raptor for tight trails, and it worked fine. However the 400EX is a far better trail quad than my rapor was, and i dont ever see a 300 being a beter trail quad than the 400, it doesnt have the suspension or the power.
