300ex missing
#1
hey guys,
I'm havin a little problem with a 95 300ex I bought about a month ago. It's got me a little stumped but I'm sure you guys have dealt with a whole lot worse. It ran fine for a while but now it seems to be missing at what seems like about 3/4 throttle. It's almost like when you hit the reverse rev limiter except its more of a stall than a nice even sputter. It won't kill the motor though regardless of how long I hold it, if I clutch it while its missing it doesn't die it just keeps stalling untill i let off the throttle a little. I'm know it's not just hitting the rev limiter cause if I upshift right about the time it starts cutting out it bogs down. It does it in nuetral also, but not nearly as bad. The only thing Iv'e tried to fix it is a new plug, since I had one anyway. This thing is pretty much stock, it's got a White Brothers muffler attached to the stock head pipe, and a K&N filter but thats it I believe. Anybody ever have a problem like this or even any ideas what it could be. I appreciate anything any of you guys can offer.

This probably sounds really stupid, but are you sure the choke is 100% off?? It's in such a difficult spot to reach; once I thought it was off but it was acting like what you are explaining. Someone else actually turned it on part way and didn't tell me. Nothing like a simple fix.
