1. Does anyone have any experience with the Roll Designs Lobo front end and swingarm?
2. I put a K&N filter and jet kit on. If I leave my airbox lid stock for woods racing, what kind of gains can I expect to see? I do not have a pipe.
3. Does anyone know where I can get the piece for the front end that gets rid of the lights, it smooths the front end out kind of like a 250r. If I do this how do you unhook the lights to keep it clean looking. I have saw a couple 400s with this set-up and I think it looks pretty trick.

Thanks,
Bruce "Woodrider 400" Hunphries

Didn't someone (bpace?) say there is no Lobo stuff for the EX?

Little to none. Maybe a slight increase from the lean stock jetting of the EX from the factory.

Maier plastic, race front. Remove the lights, cover the sockets with something waterproof (cellophane and rubberband?) and zip tie them up and out of the way.

They do not have the full chassis, but they do have the a-arms and swingarms.
If I go with the maier it will be fenders and all right? This piece I am refering to is like the small black piece that is under the lights. I don't know if you have to cut the light and key mount spot off and then this piece goes over, I am not sure. As for the K&N kit, I just don't want to expose it to water and mud. The guy at Dynojet told me that I would probably get better throttle response. That is basically all I am looking for right now.

Ahh, I can't help with the chassis parts you mention....

The plastic I was talking about is the full front fender set. I don't know if anyone makes a replacement for the black piece and headlights only.

Seems like I have seen someone remove the headlights, cut the top portion off, and relocate the neutral indicator and key. If this dosen't look too bad, it would be a better option than Maier, as I don't like their plastic and it costs more than factory. So you could modify your old set and if you wanted headlights back, just get a new set of factory fenders at about 1/2 the cost of Maier.

You will probably gain a little throttle response by re-jetting due to richening the factory lean condition, not to mention it will be better for engine longevity. Currently my altitude is about 800-1200 ft. I run a 165 main, 42 pilot, and stock needle position with the lid removed and a K&N. It seems to run well.

Yea this piece was for just that part, not the full fenders. By your pictures, I noticed that you ride in alot of sand, therefore taking the airbox lid off would not bother you that much. I race Harescrambles and I get into alot of mud and water.

Isn't their a fairly easy mod you can do to your stock exhaust? I thought I had read about it in here somewhere. It might help you get more of a gain with your K & N filter.

Actually I have only been to the dunes twice. I mainly ride trails and some MX tracks.

I have also been racing some harescrambles here in Missouri too.

Here is what I plan to do on the airbox.... I got an extra lid from Honda for $5. I am going to cut the top out of it out and get some bulk filter foam. Cover the hole with the filter foam and epoxy some metal screen or rods to the lid to hold the foam in place (kinda in a sandwich like manner).

This should still allow the lid to breathe freely, but also protect the filter itself from small splashes and direct mud, as well as assist the filter by "prefiltering" some of the intake air.

I haven't been too impressed with the pop-in circular filters that you can get from the mail-order places, they are expensive if you want a bunc

I pulled the spark arrestor out and it seemed to help a little, so I think with this new filter and jet kit I can get a little more power.

Yep, there is, but remain unconvinced of it's effectiveness of adding much more than a few extra dB's.

It has to do with removing the "Silent Core" from the spark arrestor assembly.

My thoughts are it adds some SOTP HP due to the enhanced noise factor.

Look here for a dyno run without the spark arrestor in it's entirety. Personal runs appear to have the same results, although I must admit that I didn't re-jet.
