Suzuki Z400 or Honda 400EX, if you are a trail rider!

The 450 is a great machine, but the 400's are better all-around trail machines. If I could own only one bike and I was strictly a trail rider, it would not be the 450. And, the Raptor is to tall and tippy to be a great trail bike.

 

Either bike will be good, just ride both and see which feels better to you....dont go by what everyone else tells you, judge for yourself. I do want to say I dont understand what all this crap about the raptor being unreliable is about, I have had my raptor for about 16 months and have not had one problem with it yet and believe me I do not baby it......I trail ride, play in the dirtpits, and get out on the MX track and the bike has not let me down or stranded me once. I will agree that the raptor is a "jack of all trades master of none" type bike, but that is part of beauty of it.....you can take the bike and mod it to what suits you. The only place were the raptor will be outgunned is on a mx track going up against a yfz or 450r, that is because those bikes were specifically made for the mx track and the raptor was not....thats not to say that a raptor cannot be mxd, I have seen some fully tricked out mx raptors that were awesome.

 

lmfao!!! another guy who hasnt drove a raptor in the trails, thats all i do is trail and it is not tippy if you know how to ride it, and i spank anything else in trails

 

Yamaha-My buddy has a Raptor (now for sale......wonder why???), and I have put in lots of saddle time on it! It would take a +4 axle and a-arms to fix that thing!

Ive ridden both and i can guarantee i would be faster on trails with my 450r. The raptors stance does sit higher then the 450r and its heavier. Its effortless to throw the 450r around on trails, doesnt tire you out as quick. I dont think the raptor is a bad quad (reverse, electric start.. you may want that) at all i just know I would faster on trails with my 450r.

Do a search on raptor problems before you buy one. I think that will awnser your question. Also a 450cc bike that is faster than a 660cc bike stock also says something too.
