Default Using a Jerk-Strap in the Mud

You know those jerk straps you use with trucks where you hook up to the guy and then get as big of a run as possible and then hit the end so hard that you literally yank the other guy out of the mud? Would this idea be completely idiotic and dangerous for a quad? If you locked up your elbows and leaned forward so the front end didn't come over on you, would there be any chance of not flying over the bars? This is of course with your end attached to the hitch so you didn't tear anything on your machine up. What about if the strap was quite a bit shorter than a standard truck-size strap, but still long enough to get a good hit? Just wondering

I dont think it would hurt too bad if you wrapped it around the axle (keeps them from jerking your quad ontop of you). I wouldnt get too big of a run cause it might not be too safe for the ones on the quads.

Most stuck ATV's can just be pulled out with a tow strap or rope. If you routinely get stuck bad enough that you have to consider getting a run at it and jerking the machine, then you most definitely need a winch and probably a ****** block. Jerking a machine like that with a rope or strap that has hooks on the ends can be dangerous and even deadly if that rope/strap would happen to break at it's maximum stretch. One of those hooks could become a missile. Do yourself a favor...buy a winch.

I didnt think about that. Also, the rope could cut you if it flew back at you as fast as it can travel, but like mentioned, i wouldnt want a hook in the face.
