What new things should honda put on the 450r for it to be able to beat the yfz

well i won't comment on the "beat the YFZ" line. but if i could make some changes, i would...add a starter and leave the Kick as an option. take another look at the rear linkage and geometry of the rear shock. and here's the big one...add the FCR carb. which is expensive and unfortunately, i would expect that to effect the price.

more colors. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] i wasnt aware the 450r wasnt up to the par of a yamaha. the rubberbands in the yamaha are just wound a little tighter.

 

I think they should use the xr650 motor in that bike or make a kit.

it has only been out for a few months.....give the 450r a break.

 

In all the shootouts the YFZ and R are neck and neck in the drag races, so like everybody else, I'm not sure what "beat the YFZ" means either, except maybe that you are a Yamaha guy with nothing better to talk about????

Anyway, if I could change something, I would widen the a-arms +2. I don't mind the short swingarm, but adding ~1" wouldn't hurt anything. I haven't gotten into the nitty-gritty of fine tuning this suspension yet, but I think I am going to go with an aftermarket shock in the back, at some point. And, I would gladly pay extra for a FRC carb.
