Default Honda Rancher Shocks

I'm pretty unimpressed with the stock shocks on my wife's 2003 Honda Rancher 350 4x4. The ride is kinda harsh yet they bottom out on jumps and have no adjustment. Has anyone tried any aftermarket shocks on the Rancher?

I am also interested in upgrading the shocks on my Rancher. And I totally agree with you, the ride is stiff and bottom out on jumps. I hope someone has upgraded.

With some customization, you can make a really good rear supension. I saw it on someones pics (newbeatle) that he put 2 shocks comeing out the back at an angle and left the stock one there. It looks like it did really good job, and if you buy stock suspension instead of aftermarket, it probably willl be cheaper and do a better job. Pic

That's quite the set up for the rear, looks like a lot of spring to me. I have not had the rear bottom, the problem seems to be in the front. I have emailed works to see if they make a shock for the Rancher. I have the stock shocks off my Raptor....wonder if they would work, time to get out the tape measure.

I saw those shocks, but it appeared they lifted the quad...do they? What do you think of them?

Emailing Works Shocks, does no good, but I gave them a call and they make shocks for the Rancher. Expensive shocks, but they do make shocks for it. I just ordered a set and will report if they are worth the $350...for the fronts....ouch.
