I personally don't really care for ATV drag racing so I'm not gonna say a 330R will beat a YFZ508. But if that drag race leads to an MX or XC track watch out because the 250R's aren't dead yet!

I only weigh 150lbs. so I really don't need a big bore kit to keep up with the new bikes but if I was going to do motor work I would just get the 265 Powervalve kit that all of the pro MX racers used to run before the new rules. They may only be a 265 but they can still rip!
I have an ESR 370 PV (see pics) and have had ZERO reliability issues.

Far back? I'm not sure. Any decent 330 kit (eg, ESR) puts out around 62 rwhp plus
the R would be 30 lbs lighter or more. I'm not doubting the 508 or anything, I'm just saying
that it would have to be one hell of a 508 to beat that kind of a 330....maybe it is, I dont know.
Who has the specs on the 508?

dragracer, your claiming that with bolt ons your 250r can run with a 450r with similar bolt ons? Come on guy I'm not tryin to be an a** but your dreamin unless your talkin about a bolt on big bore kit or head porting. My stock 450r will run with piped, carb'd, etc. Banshees. In order for a 250r to do that they've gotta be powervalved/big bored/ & or ported. I'm not flaming as I owned a 250r previously and still love them but in my experience in the sand it isnt even a competition. I raced several quads this past week and the only things beating me were Banshees and a 686 raptor.

Hey pimp do you know any1 looking for some g3's? I havwe a new set never installed and want to get rid of them.

Lateralus, who knows maybe the work done to my friends 250R was not by a professional but I can say that these three guys have had some trouble. I also noticed from your pics that you ride in the dunes which in my opinion can be a little less harsh on a motor than the Florida swamps and brush we race XC in.

I have an ESR 310 and I'm in florida, the only problem I've ever had with it was a seizure caused by the airfilter falling off and me running the quad wide open for abour 15 minutes. I'm actaully amazed it ran that long without a filter. You know the first thing I did was buy the airbox support rings and I didn't have that problem anymore.

I had a similar problem only luckily my carb's jets got all gunked up and starved the motor of fuel before it could do any damage. My filter fell off while riding in a dusty park and I actually kept running the whole day as I didn't know it had happend.
