400ex valve adjustment

2004 400ex timing issue
I know this has been covered a million times just doesn’t understand if I’m dumb or what lol. I got the T on the crank lines up. Put a screwdriver in spark plug hole to make sure piston is at Tdc my cam loves face down and a little back and my cam gear is lined up across. Now do I adjust the valves when the lines are down or do I rotate it at all that’s what I’m confused about. Thanks

Don't know the EX so have been waiting for someone who does, but as nobody has answered:-
Not sure what you mean by lines are down, if you can see the cam lobes, they should be pointing away from the rockers or followers.
Someone early in this posting put about turning the crank by hand, in it's normal rotation direction, and "feeling for the windage" through the plug hole, then watching for the T mark to come up. This is the easiest way to ensure you are on TDC on the compression stroke.
