No quad in stock form can go over 78 mph, that is an agreement between all the manufactors in order to keep the goverment from regulating the quads they made. But in a modified version, they can go as fast as you can modify them to go.

The yfz is faster than the new honda 450. The yfz will also be able to put out more hp then a honda mod for mod. I am sorry you honda guys...they are nice quads but they just arent even gunna be very fast.

 

You can't go by those speed calculator things. It says a Banshee will only do 66 on that and I know for a fact they go faster then that because I just sold mine. There just wrong

haha, i saw a dyno chart yfz and 450r, the 450r had a higher top speed. And trust me, you have absolutly nothing to be sorry for, i blew right by a modded yfz 450 on raceday.

 

Most got one of those special hondas eh? haha. I am not doubting you beat a yfz but if they had equal riders and were both hooking up the same the yfz should win...otherwise there is something wrong.

 

on the dyno, the YFZ puts out an average of about 39 hp, and the 450r puts out about 37 hp. with all the fluids added, the 450r is almost 10 lbs lighter than the yfz. in a 200yd drag, stock for stock, they r equal. (all of this is assuming that they r equal riders in every way possible) my friend has a yfz, and i have a 450r. we ran side by side down a fire road, 5th gear pinned, and he was a little bit faster, but i weigh 30 lbs more than him. stock for stock, the machines r equal in speed, i'm getting tired of this crap about 1 being so much faster than the other. the yfz gains more power from simple mods, than the 450r does, but the yfz was introduced like 6 months before the 450r, so the mods r more advanced, and designed better. the yfz was built for the racetrack, the 450r wasn't. if u look at all the facts, and not jus 1 race that u heard about, then u will realize that u can't compare them with mods, cuz it's not even, but stock for stock, they r equal in speed. as for suspension, handling, and ergonomics, it's all rider preference.
