My thoughts of the Rincon
#1
Just a few minutes ago my neighbor had his friends 2002 Rincon down at his house. Its stock and just had its first oil change and valve adjustment. I will tell you that this is one hellofa machine. We live on a dead end street out in the country and we have this 1/8 mile long strip of asphault down the street. I was in automatic mode and two wheel drive while on the strip and did 63mph with room to spare. I had tears shooting out of my eyes and my nose was running so much i had to stop. (While stopped i checked my pants as well lol). I also got to go up this little but steep hill. I did it in two wheel drive auto, four wheel auto, two wheel esp, and four wheel esp. The tires didn't have a lot of traction left but it still pulled me up strong. I also went up on two wheels sideways and it balanced really well. It is a little rough but not to much. It has plenty of power all through the gears. I punched the throttle and I slid sideways on our dirt driveway. I didn't get a chance to try wheelies on it though.
All in all this is one fun machine. They are very capable machines and now i see why they have won the past three Baja 1000s.

Dirt Wheels must be stupid or some thing cause in their latest issue they had the monster open class shotout and they put the Rincon in fourth below the Kawasaki/Suzuki/Prairie/Twin Peeks, Sportman 700 EFI, and the Grizzly. They always say it is down on power and bogs in auto in acceleration but according to yoiu guys it has more than enough power, some thing is very wrong in this picture.

the last baja 1000(the real one), was 450 r's . rincon was i think the 2 years before that. but come on. you dont see more then one of those freeky machines on the planet. i dont know if ya know but they arnt stock. you prolly dont believe that.

I had my Rincon up to 57 mph down at Sand Lake on the dunes in the sand. So I know it would do better than that on the road. Not brave enough to do it on the pavement though, don't want no tickets or nothing. Rincon has lots of power, whenever I try to race somebody I can't keep the front end on the ground. It does wheelies almost whenever I want, couldn't do it in the sand though. Couldn't get the front end up with just regular tires. I've raced it around a GP course and it does great due to the suspension, I could fly around there. Only problem with the suspension on a race track is that it leans a lot in the corners, my nickname was twowheeler. It sure was quick coming off the corners though.
One thing about the Rincon, it sure wakes up after about 250 miles or so. I noticed a big difference in the power after that point. Also seems to take a while to really warm up. After riding for about 15 minutes or so, you can notice the motor wake up.
Love the Rincon, lots of good, fun power.

My Rincon will do 65 pretty easily. It's alot of fun! I timed it today and with EASE on the throttle (dirt road) and bad tire spin, I got to 60 in 14 seconds. I am SURE that 11 or 12 seconds to 60 is possible.

Guys, with good tires can the Rincon hold it's own in the mud? I know it can't be expected to be as good as a locker-equipped quad, but I mean as good as the Hondas that have come before it? Also, what is the best "bang-for-the-buck" power mod for the Rinny?
