the 250R is legendary for its handling characteristics, frame geometry, power, response to modifications, ergonomics, and race history, look back through the Quad Files and see which ATV has claimed more titles than any other....that is why the 250r kicks royal a$$!!!!!!!!!!! Long live the 250R!!!!!!

I love my 250R and really like the 400s for their ease of riding. Normally I will look for someone on a 400 to drag race and play with. I can usually let them get a little ahead and then fly past them mid track in a drag race. Yesterday I tried that with my Razr's in deep sand and got my *** handed to me. I will never look down on a 400EX again. I got beat three out of five races by someone on a fairly stock 400ex. They just motored past me while I spun in the sand. It isn't always how much power you have, it's how much you can use. Maybe it's time for more porting and a new piston.

I have them both, and I love my 250R compared to my performanced 400. My R is stock suspension, and CT Racing exhaust and extended axle, and it will out ride my EX any day. When I get back on my 400 I feel like I am riding a tank, or a big old POLARIS HAHA> THe R is bad A$$!!!

Some of the replies in this thread are quite amusing! I hope some of them were not serious. All-around the 400EX is a great bike. But the 250R is in a different class altogether. The 250R is basicallly the 'model' for the the new sport quads. (400's and 450's etc.) Now for the trash talking... I have a stock 85 350X that outruns stock 400EX's all day long. I usually see 69-71 mph on the GPS. Anyways when I wanna ride something that is quick I get on my 250R

BTW: The banshee has been a legend since it's introduction in 1987. It is still the only twin cylinder two stroke with dual carbs, exhaust, and a six speed manual. The three most legendary quads in my mind are the banshee, trx250r, and the yfz450. The quadzilla takes a close fourth.

The Banshee is a classic (I don't know about legendary) quad because of the gobs of power that can be pumped from its engine. It's not really comparable to the Suzuki and Honda 250R's because they were designed for different things. The R's are race bikes and the Shee is an open class bike. I'm not putting down the Shee because I have had my a$$ handed to me quite a few times by built Banshees in a drag race but its another story if it's an MX or XC race. And by the way that was a very ignorant comment by the guy who said the 250R was a terrible bike!
