Default 87 250r reeds

What's up guys, quick question. I was checking the reeds on my 87 250r and noticed that one of the reeds on the bottom side of the reed cage is chewed up on the top. It still closes solid, but could it cause a problem? If so, would the carbon fiber boyeson reeds be a good replacement? Thanks

Are the reeds in there now steel with 3 pedals? If so they are oem.
If they still close solid, they're still OK.
I run the Boyesens just for a little extra throttle response and they screw right on the stock cage.

If your at all concerned they may be worn change them. If original change them, those puppies are almost old enough to vote. Their effectiveness would be quite deminished.

I run the delta 2 v-force on my r. There excelent, zero problems. Or a cheap alternative, boysen carbon reeds.

Thanks for the feedback. They were the oem ones, and they were pretty loose compared to the new carbon fiber boyesons. The bike seemed hard to start at first, maybe cause i had it torn apart for a few days. Is this normal? Also, on the instructions it says that the bike may run rich with the new reeds. Can I offset this by taking the lid off the airbox? Always looking for more power........
