jet size
what is the stock jet size for a 300ex (main) and stock fuel mixture screw. i think that my jetting is a little lean. does anyone have a ballpark range for a 300ex with a big gun complete exhaust system, uni intake filter, and about 30 1/4" airbox holes. What would be a good main jet and mixture screw. Also, do u have to change the pilot jet? Thanks. Oh yea, my elivation is 230 ft.

i jus re jetted my 300ex with UNI air filter, no airbox lid, and whitebros e-series silencer. the stock main is 122 and the fuel mixture/slow/needle is 38. i tried goin to a 40 needle with a 125 main, but it was still lean. i jumped to a 150 main and went back to the stock needle and it seems to be running fine. i'm at sea level, or a lil above (i live on a hill right by the beach). i haven't been able to take it out and ride it, but i did run up and down my street a few times. it has much more power, and is a little faster, plus the exhaust doesn't heat up a lot. once i'm able to go for a ride in the dunes i'll know for sure how it runs. u don't have to change ne jet. if u go with a 150 main jet, and it idles rough, or doens't want to start, try going up a size on the needle, or turning it out 1/4 turn at a time. i'm not too worried about gettin the jetting perfect, my mom won't notice a difference. it's mainly for my friend who rides the quad when he's at pismo. he lets me use his buggy, i let him use my quads. u can also get a jet kit, and call big gun and ask them for jetting advice. the jet kit should come with everything u need, and can save u from running to the shope 3 or 4 times in 1 day (like me) to get jets. good luck!
