Default Oil Light

I have a 2000 Foreman 450 ES my oil light has been coming on and going off. It's full of oil so i know that's not the problem. Could anybody tell me what might be causing this problem? THANKS!

Does the light sense the oil level, or pressure at the pump??? Your oil pump might be having problems, in which case you may have more problems than just the light!

Well, does the light comes on after the quad had warm up and after the quad did hard work !? ..
And did the light come on and off frequently !??

I'm not sure about what the Computer is sensing, but first thought, would be the temperature of the oil ..

It's just on and off, on and off. I can start it up cold and it'll come on then it'll go off and come back on. It just started doing this. when it first happened i checked the oil, and sure enough it was low. I filled it back up with oil and the light went off. Then is just started coming on and going off. i don't know if it's a sesor or what?

Hmm ..
Maybe your sensor is defective, but if you say your oil level was low ..
Maybe something went wrong with the sensor. .

In the manual they say that the light comes on when the temperature of the oil is too high .. So It should not be
the oil pressure..
Then if the engine is cool and the light comes on and off ... The sensor must be defective, or the Computer is defective in the
worst case.

But I would look the connection to the temperature sensor..
It is below the engine .. It's a threaded sensor.. If you want to replace it, you have to drain the engine oil, then unscrew the
sensor and torque a new sensor at 18 Nm .

If you want to check the sensor, you have to use a multimeter and measure the resistance .. It must be between 9.5 to 10.5 Ohms
(- Manual says Ohms -) .. when the sensor is cool.
When the sensor is hot, they say that the resistance must be considerably Higher .

Does your Fan comes on and Off when the Light comes on and Off ?!? ..

.. Oh .. If you replace the sensor, use a conductive sealer on the thread of the sensor . ..

No the fan doesn't come on. I'm sure it's not hot when it hasn't been ridden and does this.
