Default Ever replaced a clutch in a 300ex??

I have a 1994 300ex and I am going to do the first clutch replacement. I have the manual and feel as though I am more than capable to do the work, but would like to get a little bit of your knowledge. What can you tell me about the things I am going to have to buy? I see alot of advertisements for clutch "kits". Will this "kit" have all that I will need for the job? How about the special tools, will I need all of the tools that the factory manual says? Thanks for your help this will help considerably. Jon

what tools do you need?? i assume you only need new springs, steel plates, and fibers? if you need a new basket, it will be a tougher job.

On the 300ex you have to take center nut off the pressure plate. It is 22 or 27mm (big anyway). To get that off easily use an impact gun. If you don't have one borrow one or load your quad up and take it to one. That basket is expensive and at the time I learned the hard way there was not any aftermarket baskets available for it. Get that nut off then throw it away and buy a new one.

Other than that nut it is real easy, just keep your book close by.
