250ex for my chick???

matykrak,
Definately get her a 250EX. I got one for my wife 3 years ago and she loves it. It is a fantastic trail quad, especially for someone her size and weight.
My wife wants a 300ex now but only for the dunes. She wants to keep the 250ex for trails since there is no clutch and it has reverse. She'll actually have an easier time going through tight trails on the 250ex than you have on your Raptor.
The 250ex is practically maitenance free. Change the oil and clean the filter regularly, plus a new spark plug and it will take everything you throw at it.
You won't go wrong with a 250ex. Very comfortable to ride. Will cruise along at about 50-55 mph top speed.
With the shaft drive you have no chain or gears to worry about (or protect with a $100.00 skid plate) and it is very easy to start. The choke is handle bar mounted right next to the key. Good suspension especially for a light rider. Very easy to shift even under throttle. Go get one and go have fun!!!!!!!!!!

She really cant handle the power of the Rap, Cant manage the clutch and shifting. So someone pointed to the 250ex. Keep in mind she is tiny 5'4" and 98 lbs.. However she can get competitive. If I get one of these is she going to want a larger cc quad in the future? what do we think of the SHAFT drive? good no good gimme some insight. thanks in advance...

those shaft drives are so reliable,,,,the bikes are basicly bulletproof,,,,,sounds like the perfect bike if you ask me....
the easy auto-shift (gotta shift, just no clutch) will be a breeze for her,,,,they are very forgiving,,,and easy to learn on!!
buy on............

The 250ex is a good starter quad but try to ger her into shifting. I taught my chick how to shift and she loves riding my 440, she's gettin pretty good and Im gonna let her ride my street bike pretty soon. After riding my quad only a few times, she decided that she wants a quad of her own and Im gonna try to get her a deal this summer on a used 400ex, but she wants to get a truck first.

Definetely take the time to teach them to shift. When i was looking for a quad for my ex, we looked at the 250ex and lakotas. We ended up going for a 300ex, and boy am I glad I did. I have much more fun on it than I would'av a auto-clutch. Women come and go, but the payments last 4 to 5 years... lol

DO NOT GET A "Raptor" 350. its a warrior with a face lift.
my dad paid 3200 out the door in 6/03 for my little bros '03, so you should be able to pick up an '04 for about that, or wait till the 05's come out and get a leftover 04. either way get the 250EX. i love it more than my bro does! it does great in the mud and better on te trails.

I took the time to go to my dealership and ride one the other day. Not too bad they are a little smaller than I am used to but I am a bigger guy too. Quite a bit of pep for a 250 in my opinion. I am going to pick one up tomorrow, I will post and let you guys know what my gf thinks of it later this week. By the way I tried talking her into getting at least the 300ex if not a 400ex but she didnt want to deal with shifting AT ALL she said. I wanted her to order a new scrambler but she wanted this one. I guess it was "cute" or something.??????????????

I got my wife a 250ex and she loves it, and so do all my friends, they all take turns riding wheelies since they are easy to wheelie. I plan on moving her up next year to a Raptor 350.
Take a look at the pics.
