440ex questions

Default 440ex questions

I am a 2 stroke fanatic. Unfortunatly, my wife does not like the light switch power of a Banshee. She has an 87 Warrior which she loves, but hates the motor. I have installed a 2003 440ex motor with a 10.5:1 piston, webcam (unknown grind), 800RPM over CDI, and Hinson clutch. I have also put on a 39mm Keihin FCR carb with a K&N clamp on filter no airbox. I am now onto the choice of pipes. Anyone out there running this same setup in a 440ex? If so, which pipes are you using and do you like it? This bike will be a duner and top end is not as much of a concern. Bidding on a Curtis Sparks X-6 right now, are they good. Thanks everyone. I will be posting pics of this bike soon. It is not finished yet.

The DMC full system is awesome but it's LOUD.

have you looked at the dual pipes that LTE makes?

I have seen them but know nothing of them. I have not seen any test or reports on them yet.

I have a full dmc exhaust and it gives great power boosts. Ive checked the LTE pipe and they are nice looking, but dont give the same amount of horsepower upgrade as the dmc. 420 is right tho, they are pretty loud, but a spark arrester takes care of most of that, which is why i took mine off [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]. If you live in a residetial area u might want the arrester, but u said it will be mainly for duning so sound shouldnt matter as far as how loud it is goes. It has a nice 4 stroke motor sound to it and adds great torque/power.

You can see the LTE racing pipe here however there are no prices, so you would have to call for that...
