i was wondering about these two bikes, the 250R and YFZ. i want to know which is faster. stock for stock. cause I’ve found a 250R on atvtrader completely stock but i still want to get a YFZ and i want to know which is faster in top speed, drag (300FT), and MX. they'd both eventually get souped up but i just was wondering?

Stock for stock the YFZ will win in 300ft for sure, top speed....both are probably around 70-72mph...YFZ maybe a bit more I'm not sure
How much is the R you're looking at and what year is it? In MX, the handling will probably still go to the R, but the stock suspension I'm sure
is better on the YFZ
The R is lighter than the YFZ and has more hp potential
There is no clear answer, but whats most important to you in a race quad is the question?

I imagine the stock 250r you're lookin at is cheaper than the near $7 grand for the YFZ, so just imagine you're going to be spending all that extra money on aftermarket parts for the stock honda, when you're just trying to pay off the YFZ. That'll be a couple grand worth of upgrades on the honda.....compared to the stock yfz you'd be getting.

Yup, stock for stock the YFZ has better suspension and is faster than the R.
An R with the right pipe that puts power at the right RPM range will run a 5.8
Maybe even better depending on the pipe, dialing and rider skill.
For MX only I'd go with the R. They still have the best chassis design for MX and can have unmatched handling once widened and better suspension. The R is also lighter than the YFZ. The R also has more horsepower potential than the YFZ has for MX. I'm talking an open modified class here only where anything goes. JMO
Whatever you choose, depending on the track, it's going to come down to
rider skill. How he takes advantage of his quads handling abilities, speed and power to the ground, knows the fastest way thru certain terrains...that kinda stuff.
