Can't decide between 450R or Predator, Please Help!!

You asked about cold weather riding. I know my z, my friends' yfz and raptor run fine down to about -20F, then they just don't want to idle for more than 5min. Even if you turn the idle up, if you don't maintain engine heat, she'll just shut off. But I'm with the other guys on getting a Z or KFX and piping it for trails. According to the dyno's, the Z is actually .5hp higher than a stock 450R with a CT pipe on it, and the seat is wide and plush. You said you don't jump much, so the extra money for the better suspension that comes on the 450r and pred are somewhat lost on you. But if a Z is out of the question, and you're not planning to race competitively, then either quad would be fine. No matter what you get, the maxxis sur tracs, or look alikes, are a great dual purpose sand/dirt tire.
Most sport quads are close on top end speed, and in the trails, I'm lucky to get into third. With either the pred or 450r, both come wide from the factory so both require a little more manipulation between the trees than some of the narrower quads, z, rappy, etc.
Food for thought.
just long fast rides on winding off-roads and rough tight trails that are very technical ... so comfort and stability is a key concern.
Food for thought.

a z400 might be a good choice for you, i love my r, but its not as comfortable as the z... those zs ride real smooth, and handle well too. my r also suck the gas down pretty good...plus you HAVE to run good premium gas in it...you can run crap in the z.....my friends are all getting z's to putt around with while they bring their raptors, banshees and yfz's out to tear up feilds and smoother trails. they'v e been extremely dependable machines. and theyre going as cheap as 4900 at dealers. if youve gotta ask how soft and big the seat is on a predator or a 450r, then you should buy the z400.

CT has it on there web site, they show 28hp stock and 36.5hp with pipe and jets. They also have the dirt wheels pipe shoot out that shows ct putting out 35.3, but they were running either too small of a jet if it was a DJ, or too large of a jet if it was a mikuni. Either way, an average of around 36 is still same as stock 450r. Not bad for a 400.
