I am wondering if i should get a cdi or a cdi rev box kit? i found a revbox kit on sparksracing.com but its 115 and i dont know if that is good. also on www.albaaction.com there is a cdi under 400ex that is the alba one and its 60 and it raises 1000 rpms and then there is a white brothers cdi on the alba site and its 134. plz help me and tell me what i should do

on a stock engine, they are next to useless. after i put a cam and piston in my bike, the extra rpms helped a lot for drag racing. if you get one, the GT Thunder box and the TC Racing box are supposed to be the best. the sparks and the white brothers will give you starting problems. the gt thunder box advances your timing 6 degrees so it can NOT be used with a sparks timing key. i don't know anything about the alba box.

the site is www.gtthunder.com

the rev box is a cdi box. you just can't run the sparks timing key with this revbox.
tell me your elevation, temp you ride in, and all the mods your putting on the bike including open air box lid or air box lid on and i will help you with the jetting.

if you called sparks racing you would not be saying that. they told me to run them together. never had a problem yet. its my wifes 400 now and the bike has always been fast. also the cdi changes your timing curve aswell as raise the rpm's. on an elec start bike this is great but on my 450, it kicks back.

i am not sure what you mean? i have called sparks numerous times. also, i have ran the sparks box. it sucked because the bike won't start in winter with it. also, the sparks box does NOT advance the timing 6 degrees. the gt thunder box does though. you can run the timing key in a 400ex with a rev box, but just not with the GT thunder box.

i dont remember reading anywhere that anybody said the "box" advances the curve six degrees. the timing advance key that takes place of the stock one will. i said the "box" changes the curve.

and another thing, all plug and play rev box's are almost the same for the model their made for.the only diff. is going to be how well its made and how much they think you should pay. a ricks rev for the 400ex is only $69.00.why is the white brothers $134-$159 they do the same exact thing .a 400 ex rev box is just a factory xr250 cdi ,its just got somebody's race sticker on it.
