Does Honda set their speedos too high?

Thanks ........... Yes - the mount is attached to the bar with a "U" bolt - I really just picked a spot on the bar where there was the least amount of contact with cables, wires, and such and would not allow the GPS to hit the gas tank when turning the wheel. Once mounted the RAM mount is very versatile for adjusting to the location and angle you want.

Glad to here someone else is having speedo questions also.I kinda felt dumb taking it to the dealer to get checked out.But like coyote said, the resale will suffer.Honda couldnt find anything wrong with my atv. This is the first honda Ive ever owned and dont really know how honda dealers play the game.Ill wait till my 6 months is near and have them check it again.Scott.

Just about everyone has an optimistic speedometer. My Arctic Cat 500 and my cousin's 454 were about 7mph off (59-60 when actually 52-53), my grizz is about 5 mph off (69 when actually 64). And I've heard a lot of people in the past have the same thing. Namely 600 Grizzly's doing 70 back in 98 when they first came out. Had a friend whose Rubicon would show up in the 60's also.

Well at least it's not just Honda. Hopefully the mph will become a little more accurate after I get larger tires. But then the Foreman probably won't drive as fast with the larger tires.

I still don't like the idea of the added mileage. My foreman's mileage just turned (11 months old) 1300 miles. Eventually it could be harder to sell with the added mileage. I lost enough on the resale value when Honda dropped the retail price by about $400. or $500. right after I bought the foreman.

coyotechaser.
my gps is the one that came with the quad and it dosent tell the speed.
but my buddy has two rubicons a 03 and an 04 and mine is a 04 and when we all had stock tires on our speedos were all exactly the same.
but when he put his 27s on his speedo was out from mine by 3 to 4 kilometers per hour.
then when i put the 26s on mine and his speedo was only out by 2 kilometers per hour.
but if you say the speedo is fast with the stock tires maybe go up a tire size the next time you buy some tires.
i thought that the speedo was on the money so i was happy with the bigger tires putting less miles on it because i thought it was a better selling feature for later on when i go to trade it in on something else.
eather way its still putting less miles on it then the stock tires.

Well, you know what this means? I "NEED" new larger tires for my Foreman. It's a necessity.
Actually, I really will need new tires soon. The stock Dunlaps aren't holding up as well as I would hope.
I'm just glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this ...... problem?

Yeah, the tires will bring it back down to reality. I get up to maybe 61-62 all out with my 27's on.
