I have an old ct 200 honda trail bike. it is like a 1964. I just got it running about half an hour ago it hasent ran for 18 years. when i started it up it smoked really bad but then it cleared up i then tinkered with the carb until it would idle. It worked okay but when i was riding it around to warm it up it kepped bogging down and some times dying. I pulled the spark plug out and cleaned it and then it ran for a little more and then it died. so i pulled it into the shop and checked to make sure that fuel was comeing out of both fuel lines running to the carb ones res and the others on. it was And i just pulled off the carb and cleaned it to make sure everything was clear. everything i could see was clear and i could eaily blow air through. i then put it back on and the thing still wont start could anybody help me please i would like to have it done before my dad gets back from chicago. I want to surprise him oh yeah it has good spark

have you got a compression gauge??

 

I can get one from a friend how much comprehsion should it be getting. but i dont think it could be the comprehsion becuase i got it to start and run and idle but it then started bogging down but i will still check the compreshion thanks
