Uh, no. Maybe in those retarded little parking lot races where you never get over 40 mph (even then, Miatas rule), but on a road course or any real racetrack you will not see any FWD cars competing with RWD cars. The difference in ability between the two platforms is exactly why there are different classes for these cars to compete in.

Good to hear about the race results! Also, it should be completely embarassing for a car to have a close race with an ATV. The guy with the car has nothing to gain cause if he wins, so what? He beat a four wheeler. But if he loses? LMFAO @ the car that gets BEAT by a ATV!!

actually FWD creates a lot of understeer and RWD has a better handling characteristic. hence why all luxury (except Acura who makes awesome luxury sedans but always gets negative reviews on them being FWD.) sedans and sports cars are RWD.

I believe MR is the best all around performance confirguration.

have you ever driven a civic (for arguments sake) in heavy traffic? you can dar between cars like nothing. there short wheel base gives them the abbility to turn on a dime. not only that, but with that 30 000+ that you save on the vette, you can put some of that back into the suspention and engine (if you want, but there still is no power) and it will handle better than the Z06. now im not smashing the vettes or n e on the cars that come amarica. there great. i mean the vette will beet them in the 1/4. period. but at a road corce, the civic has the advantage of being able to go as fast in the corners as the strates

 

OK, I had to step in here. Many time I see people comparing Raptors to Banshees to Z400 etc. This is the same argument/debate.

Imports/4 bangers have there good points
Domestics/V8+ have there good points

But a vette and a civic are not comparable....

Y buy a civic and make engine mods to try to make it like a vette? There is no point! Now buy a Vette and make engine mods (probably going to race it). A little civic with a bunch of mods might even make it illegal to drive on the road to get it to the shape of a Vette?!!? Hell here in CA I gave up modifying cars cause the laws suck! and the average import is FWD. if you are refering to 2500lbs fwd cars with 205 aftermarket tires under them compared to 1980 mustangs and camaros, you might be right.
