If that is true, then the yfz will beat the civic hands down, assuming it is stock.

I completely agree! Get something with some serious potential if you want to race. There are fully modified 455's that run high 8 second 1/4 miles in the lighter GTO chassis's. Have any of you guys seen that drag race video between the 900hp 454 challenger and the 911 porchse? Wow, that challenger is WICKED fast.
I say the 450R will get a big holeshot because it is has a better power to weight ratio, then the civic will have to play catch up....

There has to be close to 100 civics rolling around town here with graphics with pop can exhaust...I am not at all impressed by them.

I think at night you get to see the REAL cars rolling around town on weekends...I'll be driving home from up north and see the hemi cuda roll through town, or the purple chevelle ss, or the 70 gto that sits 1 block from my house.....or the mint 67 gto....or that hot blondie in the charger I see on grand ave once in awhile.....now there are some cars to talk about.

This comes from the June 1988 issue of 3&4 wheel action magazine.
It was a 1/4 mile drag. All quads were said to be topped out before the end.

Zilla 79.2 mph at 15.09 60ft in 1.938
Banshee 77.05 mph at 15.33 60ft in 1.902
Tecate 4 74.75 mph at 15.81 60ft in 2.064
LT250 71.48 mph at 16.09 60ft in 1.947
250R 71.89 mph at 16.42 60ft in 2.084
Mojave 57.84 mph at 19.07 60ft in 2.162

I just sent an Email to ATV Action requesting they do a new article with all the new machines to compare them to one another and compare them to the old machines.

RR660R, Did they say why they can not do it?

And why give the kids crap for souping up their four bangers? They are racing with each other and comparing with each other and haveing fun just like kids used to with V8's. Only difference is they spend about one quarter of the gas money and they last longer. Sounds smart to me.

MY friend raced an upgraded Mustang on his modified Shee and huiliated him one he got the powerband to kick in, but once topped out the mustang took him. He was awfully clost to winning though.

Because it's about as smart as trying to build up an ATC70 and MX race it. You can spend $10K building up a Civic and it's still going to get tore up by a stock Cobra/Vette/LS1Z28.

haha exactly!

I have a friend with a 2001 Toyota corolla turbo. it's a 1.8 liter...I don't know the details, i've driven it once...he tells me that set at max PSI, the turbo adds 300hp to his 127 stock hp....I drove it one time, and absolutely murdered my brothers srt-4...215hp, 250 pounds of torque..he spent 10,000 to buy the car...2,000 on the turbo, high compression pistons, and what not...and another 2,000 on suspension and breaks....its an awesome sleeper...but its still a corolla..lol
