I am looking at a 450r for next spring, my question is this, is kick starting 450r easy to get started as i read by only having to kick it more than once, or twice at the most dose anybody have any comments on how easy or hard they have it with there 450r thank you

 

me and my buddy rode to day i have z400 he has 450r hes a 150 lbs wet lol. i seen him kick it one time and it started every time with just one kick.

 

When you first get it, it may take 3 but then you learn the way. I start mine in one sometimes two kicks max. They are worth kickstarting.

 

i got one too, the kickstarting usually takes 1 kick. i re-jetted and pulled out the exhast bafling and it starts even easier. the only downside to the kickstarter is if u have to drain the carb. my lil cuz was playing on it and kept hittin the gas, so when i went to ride it i had to kick it over 10 times to clear the carb so it would start. that's the only problem i've ever had with it. as long as i don't play with the throttle while its not running, i don't have a problem.

 

Yup one maybe two kicks and its going. With the auto-decompression it is no problem either.

 

Crobiker, what did you rejet to when you pulled the baffle out? What elevation are you at?

 

I noticed that they kick alittle harder with the HRC kit installed, but still start in 1 or 2 kicks....make sure to never give it throttle when the engine is hot or you will kick 20 times....anybody had there 450r in the winter yet? wonder how they start when its really cold....20 degrees or so......
