Rancher top speed
#1
What have you rancher owners gotten as top end? I was thinking about waiting for the new 400 auto.I would think it should be a little quicker than the 350 but if they are a slug I will pass on it.I know now my Kodiak will out accelerate and is about 3 mph faster than a rubi which of course is a 500.I do like the thought of a fluid drive auto....

My Rancher 350 ES 4x4 used to top out at 51 mph. Now for some reason, I can only get up to 48 or so, and it takes FOREVER to get there. My big bear absolutely kills the rancher in speed in every gear for some reason. When my brother is in 4th gear in the big bear, the rancher will barely keep up in 5th. The rancher has good acceleration, especialy through the first 3 gears. Lately the last 2 gears have been sluggish. Hope this helps!

Kinda helps.I really am not into the top speed but most of my friends have moved up to 660 grizzlys and the newer kodiaks. My money tree is not as large as theirs .I just don't want to get left too far behind.I was even thinking at one time of getting the 650 kaw just to shut them up but I am really attracted to the fluid drive vs the belt.

Mine tops out at 50. It is a lot snappier than a fully automatic machine with around the same displacement. My p650, now that tops out at 65 and could definitely keep up with your big bore buddies. But the Rancher keeps up with all those guys in the woods. It is just on the straight aways that it gets a little dusty behind them.
PS) Big 4x4, do you keep up with all the maintenance on yours? Have you cleaned your air filter lately? There must be some reason yours is acting differently than it used to.

Had a rented 2-wd Rancher up to 52 in Marysvale, Ut, 5800 ft in elevation. We have a 4-wd ES Rancher and I have never had it over 35, my daughters probably have though.

We used a GPS on my buddy's Rancher on flat pavement. It topped out at 48mph.
