hey guys im new to the sight but i have been riding hondas for 9 years now. I had a 250 recon in 01 it was fun in all but it was heavy and it lumbared around and the grears where a little far away for sport riding but for trail it was great. it was majorly under suspended how ever. I have a had a 300ex for 2 years now its an 03. i absolutly love it. it is a a million times faster that the recon is and i am very sertine it would kill a 250ex even in stock trim. i have done alot to mine and the parts are sometimes hard to find but they are out there. if u where to buy the 250ex the parts u want way not even exist. If u plan to ride with a group of inexperinced riders on slow trails alot or u don't want to jump much the 250 is a great machine it is rock solid an dso is the 300. i loved them both but the 300 is a far more capable machine.

An 05' TRX250EX is anything but slow for a 250! I smoked my friends 500 sportsman and his 500 scrambler. i also left a 350 recon in 4th gear on a curvy county road.
My TRX only has a carb upgrade, i can sit on the gas tank and ride wheelies(and im a bigish guy)im 14 years old 5',10" 200 lbs, although.. its mostly muscle( i bench 170 and dead lift 300). If i really get on i cant get it up through 2nd and 3rd gear.... can't ride it though... it either drags the grab bar or falls back down.. if any has tips please help...
